Is it possible to have one cat5 4 twisted pairs cable and split it into two ethernet ports.
One network cable two network connections.
Connect one end of the ethernet cable into to the ethernet port of the primary router and the other end into the ethernet port of the secondary router.
Now connect the rest of the ethernet devices with the switch by making use of ethernet cables.
Right click or tap and hold the connection you want to enable and choose enable.
Superuser reader ravenix wants to know if it is possible to run two ethernet connections over the same cable.
I would like to connect two lans from one pc.
Go to secondary router s settings page and login with credentials.
Check the back or the bottom of your router for the address.
I know ethernet only needs 4 wires so that would not be a problem but would the connections interfere with each other or work without issues.
Attach one end of the cable to the port available on pc or ethernet device.
The first network will be used for application software and the second for internet and e mail.
Repeat steps 1 2 and 3 from above to access the network connections screen.
Using an ethernet cable for each of the two routers plug one end of each cable into the lan or similar port on the back of each router then plug each of the cables into your mac s ethernet ports.
The address might either be a link or a series of numbers.
Now attach the other end of the cable to the unplink port on the switch.
